I Wish I Didn't Know Luis Enrique

Post Champions League reflection

Today I was watching PSG play Liverpool. PSG won the second leg 2-0, after already winning the first leg 2-0. I was thinking: “What if they win the Champions League again? Luis Enrique could win it again. That’s wild. What a winner”.

And at the same time, I was thinking about what happened with his daughter. I thought that he would give everything, absolutely everything he has won, the two Champions League titles, all his success, just to have a little more time with her. I guess it is obvious that this is how he must feel. If he could trade all the titles and all the achievements for a little more time with his daughter, he would do it without thinking twice.

Then I started thinking: what if there are people who did that? I went to this kind of fantasy place, as if there were people we do not know precisely because, somehow, they were able to trade something huge, a Champions League, for still having their daughter beside them.

Obviously, we do not know those people. For example, if Luis Enrique had been able to trade everything he has for one more little moment with his daughter, maybe we would not know who Luis Enrique is.

I do not know. I find that thought very powerful. It helps me value what actually matters. Sometimes you want more, more and more professionally, and in that push you fail to notice the most important thing you already have beside you.
